Dance Workshops with Artist Jemma Mae Broomhead

Our project dance artist Jemma Mae Broomhead worked with a group of particiants to create movement based on a mix of afro beat dance styles and traditional dance from Czech Romani culture.

After initial exploration workshops, the ancers worked on individual and group peices based on lived experiences rtaht explored both identity and place.

Movements drew onthe dialy activities of participants and the initial exploratory work durign early creaitive workshops where we explored how our environemntaffects and shapes us.

By each participant developing new and unique movement peices that explored these ideas, participants could begin to develop thier own language of movement, visualise and tell thier own stories about who they are and where they would like to be.
